Ketamine-Assisted Therapy (KAT)

At Upwell, Ketamine-Assisted Therapy (KAT) is offered to support resilience, connection, and healing. Guided by Jaclyn Burskey, PMHNP, our approach is grounded in the Roots to Thrive framework — a model that honors embodiment, inner healing intelligence, and trauma-informed care.

Every KAT journey begins with an individual psychiatric evaluation focused on safety and determining whether ketamine is a supportive option for you. Preparation sessions follow, where your intentions, mindset, and internal resources for wellbeing — known as your “set” — are gently explored and strengthened, alongside the environment and supports that make the session feel safe and sacred. When readiness emerges through the therapeutic relationship, the medicine session takes place in a calm, supported therapy space, followed by integration sessions to reflect on insights, challenges, and meaning.

There is growing evidence that KAT can support a range of psychiatric concerns, including but not limited to: depression; anxiety; trauma and PTSD; prolonged or acute grief; obsessive-compulsive symptoms; existential distress; and end-of-life psychological suffering. Offered in a safe, individualized therapy space, this work is guided by intention and the therapeutic relationship rather than expectation, honoring each person’s resilience and their own path toward connection, meaning, and healing.
